Pre-care Instructions

To ensure the best results and optimal pigment retention, please follow these guidelines before your procedure:

  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners (Aspirin, Ibuprofen) for 24 hours before your appointment to minimize bleeding.
  • Do not take fish oil, vitamin E, or any supplements that can thin the blood for at least a week prior.
  • Stop using Retinol, AHA/BHA, or exfoliating treatments on the procedure area at least one week before to prevent skin sensitivity.
  • No Botox, fillers, facials, or chemical peels for at least two weeks before the procedure.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning for at least one week prior, as sunburned skin cannot be treated.
  • If you are prone to cold sores (for lip procedures), take an antiviral medication (e.g., Valtrex) at least 2-3 days before your appointment.
  • No waxing, threading, or tinting on the treatment area one week before the procedure.
  • Stay hydrated and get a good night's sleep before your appointment to help your skin be in its best condition.

Following these pre-care instructions will ensure better pigment retention, minimize irritation, and promote smooth healing.

After-care Instructions

  • Proper aftercare is essential for the best healing and long-lasting results. Please follow these guidelines carefully:
  • First 24 Hours:
  • Keep the treated area completely dry. Avoid water, sweat, and excessive moisture.
  • If there is any lymph fluid buildup, gently dab the area with a clean tissue (do not rub).
  • First 7-10 Days:
  • Avoid getting the treated area wet (no swimming, saunas, steam rooms, or hot showers).
  • Apply the provided ointment 1-2 times daily to prevent excessive dryness and promote healing.
  • Always ensure the skin is completely dry before applying ointment.
  • No makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or skincare products on the treated area.
  • No sweating or excessive exercise for at least 7 days.
  • Do not pick, scratch, or rub the area as scabbing occurs. Allow scabs to fall off naturally to prevent patchy healing.
  • No facials, Botox, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
  • No direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks to prevent pigment fading.
  • Healing Timeline (varies by individual):
  • Days 1-3: The treated area may appear darker, thicker, and slightly swollen.
  • Days 4-7: The skin may feel dry, itchy, and start to scab or flake. Do not pick at it.
  • Days 7-10: Most scabs will fall off, and the color may temporarily appear lighter or faded due to the healing skin.
  • Weeks 3-4: The color will begin to resurface and settle into its final shade. Some areas may still look uneven.
  • Weeks 4-6: A touch-up session is recommended to perfect the shape and color.
  • Additional Reminders:
  • Use a clean pillowcase and avoid sleeping on your face.
  • Avoid hot, steamy showers as excessive moisture can interfere with healing.
  • Drink plenty of water and maintain a healthy skincare routine (avoiding the treated area).
  • If you experience excessive swelling, redness, or signs of infection, contact a professional immediately.
  • Following these aftercare instructions will help preserve pigment retention and ensure the best results for your semi-permanent makeup.
